History

When I was a little girl in the 1950’s my mother made all our clothes.  Everyone in the street always said how nice and pretty we looked, three girls dressed alike.  Mostly, I recall pleated skirts in different colours with wide straps that crossed over the back.  And always a crisp white shirt.  It made me feel special, and good,  not to mention extremely proud of my clever mother.

My elder sister was the artistic one out of the three of us and made her first dress when she was thirteen.  She was such a perfectionist and it looked beautiful.  I was the middle sister, quiet, shy, very much in the background, and at that time without a shred of ambition in me.

I made my first dress when I was fourteen and have continued sewing over the years.  My range varies from smocking handmade curtains to quilts, soft furnishings, and dresses.

My career has been within a creative field as an advertising Art Buyer, where I utilised my flair and creative skills on producing photographic shoots.  It also gave me an insight into the phrase ‘attention to detail’ and from this I learnt to appreciate art in various forms.  For my first collection of art cushions I have licensed well known subjects.  Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the world, Jan Vermeer’s Girl with a Peal Earring, Franz Xavier Winterhalter’s Empress Eugenie and her Ladies in Waiting, Edmund Blair Leighton’s Signing the Register and the stunning Golden Death Mask of King Tutankhamun.

Artistic cushions for  beautiful homes.
